RC&D is providing the following
information in an effort to assist landowners in salvaging timber felled by
Hurricane Katrina. Landowners that need the services of a small portable
sawmill to convert logs to lumber for their own use or to convert logs to
square cants for stacking and storage until the market opens up can access the
below database of small, portable sawmill operators from outside the storm-damaged
area that have expressed an interest in moving into the area to do contract or
volunteer sawing.
DISCLAIMER: This is simply a tool to connect
affected landowners and sawmill operators offering salvage services. Southwest
Mississippi RC&D, Inc. does not conduct background checks or verify
references for those listed. It is left up to the landowner to verify
references, certifications, and proof of insurance.

I can handle logs between four and eight feet in
length I can handle logs up to 24 inches in diameter, anything bigger would
require a fork lift to load it on the mill platform. I would prefer to saw on a
share basis based on the yield.

I have a portable mill that
handles 3 ft. + logs and am a logger as well. I charge between $3-400 MBF

Logging and Chipping Co. in S.C. looking for contract
for one or two crews. We have all equipment available and ready. Prentice 410
KB's, J D skidders, J D cutter, Mobark chipper plus all hauling (trucks,
trailers). Softwood preferred but can cut hardwood. Can be on a tract cutting
within one week to AL, MS or LA.
Will cut for $400 per MBF for anyone willing to move
my sawmill from DE, or will assist any new owner of a portable mill to learn
how to operate if you will just pay my transportation from DE to your
property/worksite.
Will cut pine for $250 per MBF and hardwood for $300
per MBF (for 2-inch cuts) using portable TimberKing sawmill.
Will cut for pay by the hour.

or for challenging log lot sites. Excellent design for sawing around wind- check or crack defects.

20-ft lengths. Max timber cut dimension is 8 inches. Basic charge is $200 per MBF. This saw moves
to log, if in open and on level site, and sets up over log.
